What is the meeting about?
MTI plans
to begin a training program in India in the fall of 2011 and we want to know more
about the issues, challenges, and opportunities Christian
magazine publishers in India face. For that reason, we decided to invite staff members of Christian magazines to lunch in order to "pick their brains." So, publishers get a free lunch and an
opportunity to fellowship with fellow Christian publishers for a
few hours. And we get the information we need to plan our program in
such a way as to provide maximum benefit to Indians in Christian
magazine publishing.
What is the format of the meeting?
Lunch is the first item on the
agenda! We will enjoy a nice lunch at a good restaurant. Then, we will
have three five to 10-minute panel presentations followed by discussion.
The panel topics will be:
Social, economic, religious, political trends
Social, economic, religious, or political developments and trends that may be expected to affect Christian publishing in India. How Christian publishers can meet the challenges.
Practical challenges
Practical challenges affecting the ability of Christian magazine publishers to produce, print, sell, or distribute their magazines. How magazine publishers are working to meet those challenges today. What they could do that they are not doing.
Kinds of periodicals needed today
The kinds of periodicals needed today to spread the Gospel, inform and disciple Christians, and influence society. How Christian periodicals are doing in these areas; what other kinds of periodicals are needed.

Who is invited?
People who are involved in some way
in publishing an existing or planned Christian periodical, whether as a
staff member or volunteer are invited to the luncheon meeting. Because of the expense, we must limit the number of people
to two from each magazine or organization.
How will I cover my expenses?
Lunch is free.
We realize that not everyone will be able to afford to travel to one of the
cities listed. Unfortunately,
MTI cannot
help with transportation or other expenses.
